December 17th

I fetched the car from Frankton early this morning because Ratnavandana and her dog Rufus were going to join me for a rich boating experience – of two tunnels – one quite long – and two aqueducts – one very long, very high and very exposed – and some lovely canal scenery. The Pontcysyllte (pronounced: pont-ker-suth-tee) Aqueduct is a world heritage site. We had to cross it twice because there was no mooring on the north side. A great day – lovely weather – lovely company.
